Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Compliance:
    • Perform inspections to verify adherence to environmental health regulations.
    • Detect violations, offer recommendations, and ensure compliance.
    • Issue citations and penalties when necessary.
  • Air Quality Oversight:
    • Track air emissions and devise strategies to mitigate air pollution.
  • Wastewater and Stormwater Oversight:
    • Manage systems to comply with environmental regulations.
    • Conduct water sampling and testing, and create pollution prevention strategies.
  • Hazardous Materials and Waste Oversight:
    • Ensure the proper management, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

    • Analyze samples to identify potential health risks.
  • Public Education and Engagement:
    • Create educational initiatives on environmental health.
    • Conduct outreach programs for community environmental efforts.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Engage with health professionals, agencies, businesses, and organizations.
    • Provide expert guidance on environmental health and safety matters.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
    • Participate in response efforts for environmental emergencies.
    • Develop preparedness and response strategies.
  • Additionally, responsibilities include team leadership, exploring new business opportunities, and staying informed on environmental legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental Health.
  • Preferred certifications include REHS, REM, ToR, QISP, and ICC California UST System Operator.
  • Compensation: $95,000 to $125,000 annually. Travel may be required. Benefits encompass medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more.
