Responsibilities
Collaborate with the health care team to provide social, emotional, and developmental support during a pediatric patient's illness and hospitalization.
* Supply a caring and secure atmosphere for patients and their families in pediatrics.
* Collaborate with the health care team to plan appropriate interventions.
* Develop and/or participate in outreach and educational activities to teach families, staff, and the community about issues and services related to ill and hospitalized children.
* Maintain proper education to continue with professional development.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
* Child Life Professional obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
* High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
* Preferred experience with comfort positioning, procedural support.
* Position requires comfort with being handler for facility dog (during work hours).
