Position Summary

Works under general supervision of a section head to supervise a major unit, consisting of a group of subordinate employees engaged in performing duties for the Clerk's Office. Assignments involve monitoring and issuing work assignments, resolving day-to-day issues within the unit, and participating in the evaluation and selection process of assigned employees.

Pay Grade 46

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Minimum Qualifications

100% -

1. Six (6) years of experience performing clerical, statistical, or court related duties and utilizing an electronic case management system, of which two (2) years are in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND

2. High school diploma or possess a GED;

3. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Supervises the work of subordinate employees.

2. Plans, schedules, and coordinates work operations.

3. Plans and carries out the training of employees.

4. Keeps reports and records as necessary.

5. Determines material, equipment and facilities needed for the unit.

6. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

1. Knowledge of administrative functions, the Clerk's Office policies, and practices.

2. Thorough knowledge of the professional specialty area assigned.

3. Ability to supervise and direct the activities of assigned personnel.

4. Must have good organization and communication skills.

5. Ability to deal with co-workers and the public with courtesy and tact.

6. Ability to establish and maintain an accurate system of records.

7. Ability to make oral and written reports and presentations to convey information clearly and persuasively.

8. Thorough working knowledge of the General Sessions Courts.

Special Requirements

1. May be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends on a rotational basis.

2. May be required to work in the 24 - hour office.
