Animal Medical Clinic is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Be able to safely restrain different breeds and sizes of animals safely.
Provide excellent client communication.
Maintain proper patient care pre- and post-operatively.
Monitor all patients for any significant changes, notify the doctor immediately if any observed.
Venipuncture
IV catheter placement & care
Be able to prepare the surgical suite for a surgical procedure.
Be familiar with proper aseptic techniques in the surgical suite.
Monitoring and maintaining anesthesia in surgical patients
Monitoring the patient after it has been extubated, taking post op temperatures, and heart rate, and making sure the patient is comfortable and pain free.
Assist with pack prep and instrument sterilization.
Assist with pre surgical diagnostics
Assist with the cleaning and care of hospital and equipment.

Experience & Skills Requirements:
Prefer one year of recent experience in a small animal hospital
Commitment to working within a team environment
Positive, will-do attitude
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Proven ability to multi-task in a busy work setting
Professional demeanor and outgoing personality
Holds a current Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician license in the state of Georgia
Possesses a passion for animal care
Has a strong veterinary skill set and excellent communication skills
Works well on a team, is dependable, and self-motivated
Possesses exceptional customer service skills
Available to work Saturday and Sunday rotations

Schedule: 38-40 hours weekly
Shift Times: Monday-Friday 7a-6p
Saturday 8a-5p
Sunday 7a-9a or 4p-6p

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $25 - $35 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
