Early Childhood Educator

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced teacher to join our early learning teaching team.

The ideal candidates will have an Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Children & Families as well at least two years experience working with children ages 6 weeks through 3 years, be a team player & have a passion for early learning. Supervisory experience is a plus. Only candidates that meet the minimum requirements will be considered for the position.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers & assistants to plan & implement daily lesson plans & activities.
  • Help create a safe & stimulating classroom environment for all children.
  • Monitor & engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
  • Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress.
  • Complete child assessments & participate in parent/teacher conferences.
  • Mentor new or less experienced staff as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Children & Families.
  • Two+ years experience working with young children, preferably ages 6 weeks through 3 years..
  • Must qualify as a Group Supervisor with DHS.
  • Pass state, federal & child abuse background checks.
  • Be 18 years or older & able to work in the United States.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
  • Must be patient, nurturing & able to create a positive learning environment.

Position Overview:
  • This is a full-time, year round position.
  • Pay range starts at $17.50 up to $19.50 (relative to experience & education) per hour with a pay increase based on performance & education at the end of a 90 day probation period.
  • Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick-time, dental or vision insurance, reduced child care & more.
  • Full-time staff work a four-day work week
