Summary/Objective

The Strategic Accounts Analyst position is responsible for working on several projects simultaneously in order to present thorough analyses and strategic recommendations to the Strategic Accounts Manager and/or senior leadership, with the ultimate goal of building a mutually beneficial relationship between WES and its key account holders. Your focus will be on the financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting for Wholesale Electric. Youll be utilizing a broad range of analyses, reporting, operational and communication skills; combined with business acumen.

Essential Functions:
 
  • Works closely with the Strategic Accounts team to assist with quotations and maintaining existing account relationships.
  • Analyze business data to identify trends across the industry and account holder needs.
  • Gather, analyze, and dissect market trends and data.
  • Create and analyze customer reports and inquiries.
  • Summarize and explain complex industry trends and concepts to help educate current and potential account holders.
  • Helps gather, maintain, and utilize market data and resources to better serve current and potential account holders.
  • Works with the Strategic Accounts Manager to help negotiate terms for new account holders.
  • Provides analytical support on contract issues.
 Competencies: 
  • Knowledge of computer system applications: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, and familiarity with an ERP platform (e.g. Oracle, DAX, AS400 etc.); High level of Excel knowledge preferred.
  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  • Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills with a positive disposition.
  • Reliable with strong organizational skills and solution-oriented philosophy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for accuracy.
  • Willingness to accommodate temporary working hour changes as required by workflow.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate a willingness to accept new challenges.
 Supervisory ResponsibilityThe Strategic Accounts position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Working conditionsWork EnvironmentGeneral Office Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.. Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.  QualificationsEducation and Experience:
 
  • Preferred Bachelors degree in Industrial Distribution or Business Analytics.
  • Minimum two years of experience in financial planning and business partnering role
  • Experience with budgeting, cash flow modeling, forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Experience with the development of variance and trend financial analysis.
