About The Role The Youth Outreach & Engagement Associate will coordinate after-school education and leadership programming for youth ages 14-18, focusing on youth leadership development and mental health wellness. The core responsibilities will be program development and implementation, program administration and supervision, operations and program support. The Youth Outreach & Engagement Associate will report directly to the Director of Youth Program. What You Will Do Program Development and Implementation:
- Design and develop youth educational, mental health, and leadership programs.
- Communicate with parents and schools for recruitment, outreach, and student progress.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners (i.e., schools and community organizations) to address student needs.
- Lead weekly in-person workshops for youth.
- Conduct regular check-ins with program youth.
- Assist in implementing interagency collaborative projects in the community.
- Attend community and partnership meetings as needed.
- Develop and maintain outreach materials in the agency’s social media accounts (e.g., Xiaohongshu).
- Maintain program records, files, and documentation.
- Submit documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the Youth Center and other facilities utilized by the Youth Center.
- Performed administrative duties as needed to achieve outreach and program goals, such as developing flyers and brochures in English and Chinese.
- Supervise 1-2 volunteers and/or interns.
- Represent BCNC Youth Center at community events.
- Manage external inquiries regarding the program.
- Manage logistics and order supplies.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master of Social Work or related field preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
- Knowledge about mental health challenges and interventions.
- Knowledge and work experience about Asian American and immigrant youth experiences.
- Experience with group facilitation and/or individual support.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Professional working proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese a plus.
- Ability to travel to the Boston office at least 3 days a week.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule and may require local travel during the workday.
- Work is performed primarily in a standard work environment, including the operation of computer equipment, and physical demands associated with a traditional work setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions, as necessary.
