Greenwood Shalom is an initiative with a robust educational emphasis, grounded in values, and committed to supporting youth in Boston.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the educator in various program activities for children, fostering spiritual, social, academic, and emotional development.
- Ensure compliance with the policies and regulations set forth by Greenwood Shalom Outreach Inc and Early Education and Care (EEC).
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of children, families, and communities.
- Middle School or High School student with commendable academic performance or High School diploma with relevant experience
- Enthusiasm for engaging with children and recognizing their diverse needs
- Ability to serve as a positive role model and maintain an encouraging, energetic demeanor while participating in activities
Mandatory:
- Completion of CORI and DFC checks, Fingerprinting, and current immunizations
Key Duties:
- Support the educator in the delivery of the program.
- Emphasize and promote personal safety and well-being for children, parents, and colleagues.
- Implement constructive behavior management techniques focused on education.
- Establish effective communication with children and staff.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and supervise children during activities.
- Participate in required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Promptly report and document any incidents.
- Contribute to activities that enhance creativity, cultural awareness, and academic growth.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
