TDP Bakery is seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated individual to join our SQF team.


Our FSQA & Sanitation Supervisor will be the heart of quality and safety in our Charlotte bakery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for process improvement and strong analytical skills, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. He/she will need to perform exceptionally well as both an integral member of a team and as an individual contributor.

Our combined bakeries manufacture millions of fresh bakery items every week, and our distribution teams drive enough miles each day to circle the earth to ensure that our consumers can enjoy something truly fresh.


Responsibilities


The FSQA & Sanitation Supervisor is required to perform a variety of essential duties; however, this is not a complete list of all responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements, or working conditions associated with this job. This position is responsible for overall food safety, quality, SQF systems, and sanitation. While this list is intended to be an accurate reflection, Management reserves the right to revise the requirements per business needs.


  • Serves as on-site expert in compliance with SQF, and FDA guidelines
  • Manages site document control for all forms, SOPs, etc.
  • Conducts root cause analysis
  • Implements and verifies corrective and preventative actions
  • Supervises the Sanitation team & coordinates with vendors to ensure effective sanitation program
  • Create, implement, and maintain a master sanitation schedule
  • Conduct ATP and environmental swabs
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly, annual calibrations (in house and 3rd party)
  • Conducts daily start-up inspections prior to production
  • Oversees day-to-day quality assurance activities
  • Trains new staff as needed
  • Collects QA data, analyze & distribute to management daily
  • Maintains compliance of raw material receiving and traceability
  • Assists Sr. Food Safety Manager with site specific mock recalls
  • Facilitates with Sr. Food Safety Manager all regulatory & 3rd party inspections
  • Responsible for coordinating and documenting site-specific Food Safety Training Program
  • Manages and maintains Environmental Monitoring Program for the facility
  • Performs internal quality audits in the facility and implement corrective actions based on audit results
  • Assists in ensuring that all employees follow all company policies and procedures with safety regulations GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements
  • Manages SOP training spreadsheet on a weekly basis. Ensures tracking of SOP training is taking place. Tracks and reports the progress of the SOP program on a weekly basis
  • Creates labels, orders, and assists in plant signage to comply GMP regulations
  • Responsible for site-specific Pest Control Program including trending and analysis
  • Reviews process operating procedures/batch records, sanitation records, etc.


Sanitation


  • Responsible for managing the Sanitation Supervisor and Sanitation Department
  • Responsible for coordinating scheduling of employees, reviewing time cards on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for training the members of the department
  • Ensures master sanitation plans are clearly defined and adequate (based on risk assessment and scientific validation) to ensure environmental and product contact areas are fit for use
  • Ensures workforce is adequately trained to understand both the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ to clean and sanitize in ways that will reduce risk and prevent cross contamination. Establishes SSOPs accordingly
  • Ensures cleaning activities are being completed for being audit-ready at all times
  • Drives design improvement in environment and equipment to improve ease of cleaning and reduce potential for contamination

Requirements


  • High School Degree or 1 to 3 years of job-related experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in supervisor role


Training Needed: Through AIB online or Zosi online


  • Food Safety and Sanitation Online: contains several courses underneath this umbrella (24 hours total)
  • HACCP (6 hours total)
  • SQF Practitioner: contains several courses underneath this umbrella (8 hours total) and exam
  • PCQI (20 hours total)


Physical Requirements


  • Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time
  • Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs.
  • Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights occasionally including floors of 100ft or more, with appropriate fall protection PPE
  • Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings
  • Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions
  • Requires ability to hear and speak, occasionally in high time weighted average environments with elevated decibel readings (using appropriate hearing protection)


Schedule

This position is required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. The number of hours is subject to change week-to-week based on business needs. The usual schedule for this position is Monday-Friday on day shift, but one week out of the month will require overnights from 9pm-5am for supervision of the sanitation team.
