Our client, a well-established company located in the heart of downtown Seattle, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join their finance team. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in accounts payable and a keen attention to detail. You'll play an important role in managing vendor relationships, ensuring accurate invoice processing, and maintaining financial integrity within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage incoming vendor invoices, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with company policies.
  • Perform data entry into accounting software, ensuring timely and accurate posting of invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts payable subledger with general ledger to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and issue payments to vendors, including checks and electronic transfers.
  • Maintain and organize AP files for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with month-end closing, including accruals and other AP-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset to handle vendor inquiries.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
