Preconstruction Manager

The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all preconstruction activities related to concrete projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals to ensure competitive and accurate pricing for projects. Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimating and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project requirements and develop accurate budgets.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and tools.


2. Bid Preparation and Proposal Development:

  • Prepare and submit bid proposals for concrete projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of bid documents and project specifications.


3. Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to review project plans and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for project planning.
  • Develop and implement preconstruction strategies for concrete projects.


4. Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all estimating activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of project documentation.


5. Client and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, including progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.


6. Scheduling and Resource Management:

  • Develop preliminary project schedules and timelines.
  • Assist in resource allocation planning, including personnel and equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to meet project deadlines.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in concrete construction and preconstruction management.

• Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

• Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
