Summary:
The Associate Director, Regional Marketing Conventions & Field Programs will be responsible for collaborating with brand leadership & Regional Marketing leadership to oversee and execute all aspects of field-based programs, product theaters, & national broadcasts in conjunction with the Brand teams. This position is responsible for managing the execution of all regional field programs and regional 3rd party engagements.
This position will also manage the speaker bureau in conjunction with the Regional Marketing group and Brand leaders. The incumbent will build strong partnerships with brand marketing, field leadership and cross functional teams to ensure the execution of these programs, continuous improvements, reporting and forecasting analytics and more, while ensuring adherence to DS policies and procedures. The Associate Director, Regional Marketing Conventions & Field Programs is responsible for managing the execution of National & Regional Conventions for US brands & Regional Marketing team.
This position will partner with internal cross-functional team including agencies, third party vendors and healthcare associations to prepare for upcoming conferences, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders & communicate upcoming congress activities in support the of the Regional Marketing group. Must be well-versed in pharmaceutical brand marketing, pharmaceutical industry, legal, compliance and regulatory, convention industry to provide recommendations, anticipate issues and identify opportunities to maximize value of our presence for our brands/company. Holds responsibility for managing the PGC and PMRT process for the Regional Marketing group.
Responsibilities:
Regional Field Programs Management
Maintain a high level of cross-functional collaboration to ensure all aspects of regional events are successfully accomplished and are communicated to all appropriate functions.
Provide direction to internal stakeholders on the appropriate level of participation and cost-effective use regional opportunities. Identify opportunities for leveraging resources and collaboration within the field. Properly delivering on this will allow DSI to elevate its brand within the marketplace assist the Regional Marketing team in meeting organizational expectations.
In conjunction with the Brands and Regional Marketing leadership, evaluate strategies and tactics of projects and programs. Develop and manage the full scope of regional events and the deliverables. This will ensure that the Regional Marketing team meets and exceeds in delivering revenue to DSI and will assure that the RML team effectively collaborates with their field partners.
Build strong cross functional partnerships internally and across DSI’s alliance partners. Also, build strong partnerships with association/organizations to identify and assess potential obstacles that adversely affect the successful execution of regional event and proactively seek and implement contingencies to address them.
Develop and recommend events that drive key messaging, support strategy, and foster relationship-building opportunities with customers and partners. Provide direction to internal teams to ensure proper alignment with event scope and desired outcomes.
Responsible for necessary integration/implementation of field insights across DS brand teams and supported functional areas.
Meet with Sales Leadership on a regular basis to review processes and gain insight of the field needs with goal of enhancing processes. This will ensure coordination with home office Marketing tactics and field delivery on these tactics, ultimately creating increased utilization of the DSI portfolio in appropriate patients.
Build strong relationships with speakers and develop and manage tools for tracking program execution. Understand and communicate the needs of the Brand and the field when assisting in developing new speakers. The ability to influence internal and external stakeholders will be key to building buy in for new programs.
Work with Regional Marketing leadership and other cross functional partners in planning and preparing for key congresses. This work will include, aligning with the Brands on creating goals and objectives, preparation for 3rd party events at the congress, coordination of Regional Marketing customer meetings, working with vendors to assure coordination of DSI functions, consistent communication leading up to the congress.
Conduct Regular Convention Logistics Status Meetings with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, agencies, and partners to review all congress initiatives, timelines and deadlines for content and execution.
Project management to ensure all business-critical deadlines are met for each convention.
Partner with Marketing to best allocate promotional dollars between exhibits and conventions.
Work with Regional Marketing Team to ensure Congress 3rd party strategy is sound deliver on strategy through preparation and execution on those programs.
Manages partners and vendors to execute programs.
Administrative Responsibilities
Oversee brand field program allocations.
Develop key tracking systems to keep the Regional Marketing Team and other key DSI functions aware of planning and progression towards Congress and 3rd party execution.
Ensure projects are executed in a timely manner and delivered with the appropriate level of detail. Work extensively with, and understand the importance of, key internal constituents – Market Insights, Analytics, Medical Affairs, Sales Training, etc. Present to various internal management committees and groups
Submit virtual and live exhibit booths for PMRP approval.
Legal and Compliance
Establish strong partnership to ensure all DSI congresses comply and adhere with all rules and regulations.
Fundamental understanding of our DS legal and compliance rule and regulations for these programs to provide field with support.
Support Regional Marketing with PGC reviews as needed.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required
MBA preferred
Master's Degree preferred
Experience Qualifications
7 or More Years of progressive sales, marketing, and/or communication experience or comparable education/work experience required required
4 or More Years Pharmaceutical industry and Conventions or Field Speaker experience or brand marketing experience required. Understanding on Pharma guidelines and Federal/State regulations preferred
4 or More Years Oncology experience preferred
4 or More Years of Pharmaceutical Marketing, including product launch experience preferred
Proven track record in developing strategic initiatives with cross-functional disciplines preferred
Travel
Ability to travel up to 30%. Overnight & Weekend travel conventions and business meetings.
