Commercial Project Superintendent


Onsite / Northeast Florida (No Travel Required)


Our client, a leader in the commercial construction industry, is actively seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to manage both new construction and renovation projects in Northeast Florida. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

We’re looking for a highly skilled professional with extensive knowledge of commercial construction methods and proven leadership abilities to manage complex projects from inception to completion. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all onsite construction activities: Serve as the main point of contact for the project site, responsible for the overall scheduling and management of all subcontractors, vendors, and personnel.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders: Facilitate seamless communication with the project management team, architects, engineers, inspectors, and local authorities to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Client interface: Act as the on-site representative, maintaining open communication with the client and end-users to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Daily scheduling and logistics: Plan and oversee daily construction activities, ensuring the proper sequencing of trades and managing site logistics to keep the project moving forward efficiently.
  • Jobsite safety and compliance: Take ownership of all jobsite safety protocols, ensuring OSHA and company safety standards are met. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Quality control: Enforce high standards for workmanship and materials, reviewing plans, shop drawings, and specifications to ensure project accuracy.
  • Monitor project milestones: Ensure the project stays on track with respect to budget, timeline, and quality goals. Identify potential delays and implement strategies to mitigate any risks to the schedule.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting: Quickly address any onsite challenges, making critical decisions to keep the project progressing smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish. Health care construction experience is preferred, given the complexities and compliance requirements of these types of projects.
  • Proficient in project management software: Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and other relevant tools for project tracking and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple aspects of the construction process simultaneously while maintaining focus on the details that drive quality and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills: Ability to lead diverse teams, communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and maintain a collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to safety: Thorough knowledge of construction site safety standards and experience enforcing OSHA and AHCA regulations to ensure the highest level of site safety.
  • Time management and problem-solving skills: Strong understanding of trade sequencing and scheduling, with the ability to quickly adapt to changes and keep the project moving forward.
  • High standards for quality: A commitment to delivering projects that meet the highest quality standards, with a sharp eye for detail and a focus on craftsmanship.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with building layout and using surveying equipment as a key part of the company’s quality control program.
  • Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore or Buildertrend) is a plus.
  • Certification in OSHA safety or other task-specific safety training.
