We’re hiring a Director of Marketing & Sales in DC

We’re on the lookout for a creative, strategic, and results-driven Director of Marketing & Sales to join our growing team at CYM. In this role, you'll spearhead the promotion of our brand and products, leading the talented teams behind creative design, content creation, partnerships, external communication, catering sales, and customer experience. You will develop and execute marketing strategies that drive business growth, enhance brand recognition, and deliver memorable customer experiences. Your core responsibilities will be:

  • Lead CYM’s brand marketing strategy including: public relations, content, partnerships and events with the goal of increasing CYM’s organic brand awareness — building trust and love in the brand, while developing a network effect leveraging our most passionate guests.
  • Lead CYM’s design and communication strategy including: photography, graphic design, video, swag, experiential and UX design, and copy – with the goal of delivering a brand experience that’s vibrant, fun, and grabs attention to keep our audience guessing.
  • Lead CYM’s Catering Sales and Customer Experience Teams towards achieving high performance metrics and identify opportunities for sales and engagement opportunities as we scale the business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing efforts align with business goals; with a focus on new shop openings, menu and product launches, holidays, and new markets.
  • Monitor and report on marketing, sales, and CX performance metrics to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain intimate understanding of competitive/category landscape along with market trends and consumer insights.
  • Lead your team towards high-performance, providing coaching to enable your team to hit goals and maximize their potential.
  • Takes ownership of departmental results, while fostering a culture of accountability among teams.
  • Support the brand’s long-term creative vision and implement it consistently across all channels; Champion collaboration to ensure the CYM brand is effectively represented through all activities and departments.

You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience leading marketing and sales teams/functions within food, hospitality, retail, CPG or other creative industries.
  • Experience managing a team of 5+ people towards high performance achievements.
  • A creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Outstanding leadership and relationship-building skills and ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proven track record of creative storytelling, being able to cohesively bring together a brand story through the total experience across live activations and communications across channels.
  • Inclination to be curious and staying apprised of cultural trends, local trends, industry trends, media landscape shift, technology, and new brand-building methodologies.
  • An equally analytical and creative approach to marketing.
  • A detail-oriented and organized approach to leadership.
  • Proactive problem solving skills with a strong work ethic.
  • The ability to react quickly to new information and inspire teams to do the same.
  • Proven experience supporting executive leadership and driving interdepartmental collaboration.
