Summary

The Production Coordinator acts as the crucial link between the planner and the production supervisor. This role involves creating and maintaining a detailed schedule that balances customer demand, material availability, and machine capacity. Key responsibilities include managing the flow of materials to ensure seamless production, swiftly responding to changes in demand, and closely monitoring the execution of the production plan. The Production Coordinator ensures that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and minimizing downtime. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to dynamic production environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily monitors, analyzes and reports production performance and potential production problems
  • Revises production schedules when required due to labor or material shortages or to accommodate unexpected situations
  • Identifies, recommends and takes corrective actions to solve production and scheduling issues
  • Responsible for establishing production schedules: considering factors of customer requests and demands, existing capacity and working with Production
  • Drive to achieve budgeted targets for revenue and on time delivery
  • Gives direction to Purchasing for component expedites and appropriate order quantities to ensure material availability
  • Maintains departmental metrics and reporting
  • Participates in company-wide Continuous Improvement projects
  • Establishes production schedules: considering factors of customer requests and demands, existing capacity and working with Production.
  • Interacts with shop floor management on a regular basis to resolve issues and achieve daily production requirements
  • Drives to achieve established targets for revenue and on time delivery.
  • Monitors and drives all open orders; have detailed understanding of assigned backlog.
  • Maintains the production schedule and other reports as required.
  • Follows-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
  • Performs other administrative functions as directed by Planners.
  • Manage shipment of materials between various manufacturing sites.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • HS degree. Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel
  • High sense of urgency and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage time and priorities
