Summary:
MSI is hiring a Federal Proposal Writer to join our Cost Engineering and Project Controls. This is a key role that will support our business development efforts and will consist of being the primary writer for our proposal process.  MSI’s primary customers are local, state, and federal government agencies. Federal proposal writing experience is a must have. The ideal candidate will reside and work in the Niceville, FL or Washington, D.C. area.

Essential Duties:
  • Work closely with Vice Presidents to draft proposals and responses.  Write key sections of proposals and assemble content into a cohesive master document; edit entire document to produce working and rough drafts for review.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure all proposal materials are compliant with solicitation requirements.
  • Manage the content library and oversee quality control of all materials used in RFP development. Maintain and regularly update team resumes and service line experience charts.
  • Ensure all documents produced are of high quality, with appropriate formats and templates used, and with all content in compliance with stated requirements, and consistent with firm-wide strategy and communication guidelines.
  • Record and track all proposals. Manage and update electronic filing of documents through SharePoint.
  • Manage multiple proposals simultaneously under tight deadlines, ensuring all submissions meet quality standards and timelines.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years’ relevant experience in a professional services firm (strongly preferred)
  • A strong portfolio of writing samples, preferably including former proposal work within the public sector (i.e. federal)
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Windows environment and Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, to deal with stress around deadlines and to set and enforce deadlines within the team
  • Ability to work and collaborate within a team environment with a variety of professionals, while at the same time being comfortable working independently and proactively with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to details
