Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependable Project Manager – Construction Stormwater to join our Environmental team in College Station, TX. This position will include managing and overseeing assigned projects and will also include field activities and completion of technical tasks, studies, and deliverables. This may include serving as the project manager, technical lead and/or field lead. The position will also involve proactive client building and opportunity identification through networking, being active in local environmental associations, and providing excellent customer service to internal/external clients and agencies. Additional responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Manage execution of assigned Service Line projects to meet client and project financial performance expectations.
  • Review project performance on a recurring basis and initiate corrective actions as needed
  • Manage project(s) billing and accounts receivable activities supported by the Finance and Administration department.
  • Closely monitor project budgets and take early action to avoid budget exceedances.
  • Closely monitor project schedules and communicate with Supervisor and client early to discuss any schedule conflicts and resolutions.
  • Manage and/or Prepare Service Line proposals and qualifications statements including direct involvement in scope of work, level of effort and cost build-up as required.
  • Manage activities of project staff including; day-to-day task management, project budget and schedule compliance, technical peer review of client deliverables.
  • Grow client revenue organically by identifying potential business opportunities during and outside of active project activities.
  • Establish and/or maintain positive close relationships with Service Line clients.
  • Participate in monitoring assigned projects, including QA/QC protocols, to ensure substantial compliance with generally accepted practices and Raba Kistner’s Quality Management System.
  • Identify potential business opportunities during and outside of active project activities and evaluate for pursuit in discussion with Supervisor.
  • Oversee and/or lead field crews during Service Line field activities and directly participate in the field as needed.
  • Identify and evaluate potential subcontractors, as needed, and, if they are selected, oversee their work.
  • Computer work including new project set up, take offs, estimates, new client set up, contract review, change order review.
  • Assist F&A with accounting, eUnit, invoicing sheet, draft invoices.
  • Ability to drive company vehicle, manage and complete all assigned jobs, efficiently and on time.
  • Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and Quality Management Systems and set a good safety example.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Wildlife Ecology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.

Works well as a team or individually, as project circumstances require. Demonstrate proven leadership ability in his/her current or prior education or employment. Be willing to learn more than the minimum necessary to complete the job. Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within the organization. Intermediate to advance in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Occasionally utilize hand tools such as sledge hammers, shovels, and picks. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, focus vision and depth vision. Able to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (business office with computers/printers, light traffic, etc.) or loud.

Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts (spinning shafts, engines, lifts, etc.), fumes or airborne particles (painting, sanding, solvents, flying lint or dust particles, etc.), toxic or caustic chemicals (including potential for chemical spills, etc.), outdoor weather conditions (exposure to outdoor heat, cold or inclement weather), risk of electrical shock (live electrical wires, equipment that retains power after shutoff), all of which would require employee to follow proper safety procedures and utilize appropriate protective equipment.

Position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work responsibilities require out of town travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices and project locations.
