Aquatic Instruction Coordinator

The New Canaan YMCA is looking for a FULL TIME experienced aquatic professional (Swim Instructor) to coordinate all aquatic instruction programs for our onsite and offsite aquatic programs. Candidate is expected to teach swim lessons in addition to the administrative and coordinating duties outlined below.
Under the direction of our Senior Director of Aquatics, the Aquatic Instruction Coordinator will organize program offerings for our year-round Youth, Adult and Special Needs aquatic programs, oversee session scheduling, and oversee Swim Instructor staff. Candidates should be aware of, and remain committed to staying current with trends, strategies and safety procedures in aquatic instruction, and be creative in developing new aquatic programs in collaboration with the Senior Director of Aquatics.
Each summer, the Aquatic Instruction Coordinator will set up and oversee swim instruction at each camp waterfront - Camp Mini, Camp Y-Ki, Steve Benko Pool and Horizon's summer program, and will act at the Waterfront Director for our indoor pre-school camp (Camp Mini) and Horizons program.
This candidate will also provide leadership and guidance in the absence of the Senior Director of Aquatics and must be age 21 or over (due to Connecticut regulations for summer responsibilities) . Applicants should be certified in CPR for Professional Rescuer and have Lifeguard certification.
