Project Technical Manager

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Project Technical Manager will be responsible for the refurbishment of existing aerospace systems as part of the modernization effort to secure and support a newly designed and technically advanced system. Provide transformation efforts to support engineering development, deployment and sustainment. Perform Project Management tasks related to planning, procurement and execution of this effort that addresses project scheduling, risk analysis, opportunity management, resource management, collaboration and control capabilities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform Project Management functions
    1. Assist in customer contract deliverable data review and assessment
    2. Track customer taskings
    3. Perform security updates
    4. Monitor computer system access requests
  2. Providing expert support to project or program leadership in reviewing, validating and supporting DoD acquisition and logistics efforts
  3. Collect, analyze, interpret, and develop specialized information as well as cost and schedule
  4. Ensure accuracy and completeness of content
  5. Recommend corrective actions and provide support to programmatic and technical briefings, reports and other related documentation
  6. Manage project(s) and liaison between project management and planning, project team, and division management
  7. Prepare project execution plans
  8. Review projects and budgets status
  9. Assess issues to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  10. Prepare status reports
  11. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team
  12. Work projects to support other technical specialists with lines of effort and complete tasks within assigned projects
  13. Provide expert level advice and guidance in the development and validation of Technical Orders and Specifications
  14. Provide expert technical advice and support to Product Support Managers (PSM) and Product Support Division Leadership in reviewing and validating electronic Technical Orders and Technical Manuals
  15. Integrate, coordinate and engage with customer Product Support Division and Systems Engineering
  16. Read, interpret and validate engineering drawings, blueprints, instructions and requirements
  17. Work on ACAT I level programs assisting in the development of state-of-the-art technologies and analyzing contract specifications

Other:

  • US Citizenship required
  • Possess an Active Department of Defense SECRET Clearance, adjudicated within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense TOP SECRET Clearance

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 years of relevant experience, 5 years with a Master's degree
  • Expert project management qualifications
  • Experience reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements
  • Knowledge of Air Force Technical Order Management System and Technical Content Management (TCM) policies and processes
  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics and engineering change orders (ECO)
  • Preferred:
    • Experience using MS Project, PrimaVera, and/or other scheduling solutions
    • Experience with ICBM or other missile systems, including weapon system sustainment, logistics or maintenance activities
    • DoD acquisition program experience
    • Experience with authoring and supporting Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)
    • Experience with Logistics Cataloging of parts and support equipment
    • S1000D experience
    • ICBM maintenance experience
    • ICBM Technical Content Manager experience

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Technical Field, Project/Program Management or Logistics, preferred
