Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Administrator specializing in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), formerly known as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, management, and support of MECM infrastructure to ensure efficient endpoint management across the organization. This role involves collaborating with IT teams to implement best practices for software distribution, patch management, and compliance reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • MECM Administration:
    • Design, deploy, and maintain the MECM infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
    • Manage and maintain software distribution, patch management, and operating system deployment processes.
    • Create and manage application packages, task sequences, and deployments in MECM.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot MECM site servers, distribution points, and client health.
  • Endpoint Management:
    • Implement and manage device compliance policies and ensure security configurations are enforced.
    • Deploy and manage Windows updates, third-party updates, and application patches across the organization.
    • Manage endpoint security configurations, including antivirus, firewalls, and encryption policies.
    • Oversee the lifecycle management of endpoints, including provisioning, monitoring, and decommissioning.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with IT teams to integrate MECM with other systems and tools, such as Active Directory, Azure AD, and Intune.
    • Provide Tier 2/3 support for issues related to MECM, including troubleshooting deployment failures and resolving client health issues.
    • Collaborate with security teams to ensure endpoint compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Automation and Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tools to streamline MECM tasks and improve efficiency.
    • Generate and maintain reports on software deployments, patch compliance, and system inventory.
    • Monitor and optimize MECM performance, addressing any issues proactively.
  • Documentation and Best Practices:
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation for MECM processes, configurations, and best practices.
    • Stay updated with the latest MECM features, updates, and industry best practices.
    • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new tools and technologies related to endpoint management.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration, with a focus on Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
    • Experience in managing large-scale enterprise environments with MECM.
    • Strong experience with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
    • Experience with cloud-based management tools such as Microsoft Intune is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in MECM administration, including software distribution, patch management, and OS deployment.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certifications:
    • Microsoft certifications related to MECM (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are preferred.
    • ITIL certification is a plus.
