Report Developer

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Report Developer will be responsible for working with internal stakeholders across the company to build and automate reports, dashboards and customer correspondence templates. This role will also serve as an internal consultant with internal teams to help them select optimal data fields and design layouts.
Employee must reside in Missoula, MT or surrounding area for this hybrid opportunity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Translate reporting and dashboard requirements from internal stakeholders into reporting solutions to meet business needs
- Work with internal stakeholders to fully understand their business problem and design solutions to meet their needs
- Gather requirements and scope of data and reporting needs from internal clients
- Gain understanding of the impact and importance of the data underlying reports and dashboards, and become an expert in its use
- Write SQL queries to extract data from Microsoft SQL Server database for ad-hoc requests
- Design an automation of reoccurring report deliverables with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Develop methods for improving internal techniques and processes in creating highly effective reports and dashboards.
- Maintain audit performance dashboards from external data sources, leveraging and improving on existing templates
- Ensure high level of accuracy and quality in all produced work

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, informatics, business or health care administration or related work experience
- Three years of demonstrated experience in translating and coding business requirements into SQL reports and dashboards
- Experience with Visual Studio experience preferred
- Experience with Bold Reporting Service preferred
- Experience in health care provider or insurance industry preferred
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expert proficiency with SQL queries (on any relational database platform)
- Demonstrable relational database practices and techniques
- Ability to explain and use joins, aggregations, pivots and windowed functions when writing queries
- Expertise with Microsoft Excel, including charting, functions, pivot tables and macros
- Ability to think critically to solve complex reporting problems and guide internal stakeholders to successful outcomes
- Ability to drive change through influencing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong internal customer focus and ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively
