Job Description

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer, with a strong background in RF and microwave circuit design and successful product development and launch.

Core job responsibilities within the Engineering Department at Vorbeck for a Senior Associate, Electrical Engineering are:

  • Designing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software
  • Participating in multiple aspects of product design from concept through to product launch
  • Building and testing prototypes at an accelerated pace
  • Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales
  • Liaising with others in the design team
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and project managers
  • Designing and conducting tests
  • Recording, analyzing, and interpreting test data
  • Qualifying final products or systems
  • Preparing product documentation
  • Writing reports and giving presentations
  • Monitoring products in use to improve on future design
  • Support field tests and demonstrations
  • Proposing modifications and retesting products
  • Contribution to the development of technical data packages for production
  • Other responsibilities and duties as required
  • Travel (expected) 5%-10%
Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills

Desired qualifications and skills for a Senior Associate, Electrical Engineering are:

  • Experience with PCB design, amplifiers, filters, switches, etc. for high frequency applications (RF and microwave)
  • Experience in product design, development, testing, and launch
  • Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems
  • Ability to lead fast-paced technical teams
  • Past performance in the management of engineering projects with on-time delivery
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills and strong technical writing ability
  • Possess, or have ability to obtain, a Secret or higher clearance with US Dept. of Defense

Education and Experience

Desired education and experience for a Senior Associate, Electrical Engineering are:

  • BS degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering or a related field is a significant plus
  • Three to five years’ work experience in electrical engineering
