Position Summary
The role entails collaborating closely with the Consumer Lending Manager and the Lending Team to ensure the smooth functioning of the Dark Matter Empower platform. Key tasks involve conducting detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and performing user acceptance testing to ensure the system meets business needs. Additionally, the role includes administering and managing system configurations for the Empower Loan Origination System (LOS). This encompasses setting up and defining components such as product and pricing, workflows, service providers, and user roles.
The individual is responsible for managing change control processes, including overseeing the promotion of changes across different environments. They also handle testing system upgrades as well as planning and managing user acceptance testing to ensure that the system functions as expected.
Managing integrations with all service providers is another crucial aspect of the role. This involves ensuring seamless communication between the LOS and external service providers. When issues arise, the role requires providing escalation support for help desk requests, troubleshooting problems, and escalating unresolved issues to Dark Matter tech support when necessary.
The individual also serves as a subject matter expert on the Empower platform, offering insights on processes, features, and workflows to business SMEs. They are expected to recommend new features and improvements to enhance system efficiency. Lastly, the role involves maintaining and testing business rules to ensure they align with company policies and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions across all technology platforms used in Residential and Consumer Lending.
- Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
- Staying up to date on the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
- Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
- Performing requirements analysis.
- Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.
- Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
- Working closely with vendors, operations teams, and management.
- Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to operations staff.
- Allocating resources and maintaining cost efficiency.
- Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Developing test plans and executing user acceptance testing.
- Managing projects, developing project plans, and managing deliverables and deadlines.
- Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures.
Additional Responsibilities

- Attends seminars, webinars, meetings and participates in Bank events as needed or upon request.

Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in mortgage operations and administration of LOS systems.
- Experience with Dark Matter Empower or other leading LOS systems.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
- Advanced technical skills.
- Excellent documentation skills and experience with process modeling.
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A track record of following through on commitments.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- A history of leading and supporting successful projects.
