You will assist with creating images and content for event promotions, print and digital marketing materials, fundraising initiatives, and strategic outreach. POSITION SUMMARY

The Photographer & Social Media Coordinator strategically captures moments for visual communications and marketing materials. This individual will be an integral part of the storytelling and social media teams, planning and creating images and content for event promotions, print and digital alumni and donor stories, fundraising initiatives, and strategic outreach in support of the UND Alumni Association & Foundation. This position requires extensive knowledge of photography, social media, and content strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA

  1. Capture high-quality images for various purposes including magazine stories, website photos, event coverage and promotion, fund solicitations, marketing initiatives, and more.
  2. Coordinate, plan and execute photo shoots, communicating expectations to participants and ensuring all equipment is ready.
  3. Operate professional grade digital camera, lenses, and lighting.
  4. Ensure final images meet expectations and are delivered on time.
  5. Manage and organize photo archives (Canto).
  6. Stay current with industry trends and new techniques to continuously improve skills and formulate ideas.
  7. Regularly collaborate with graphic designers and other team members to ensure cohesive visual storytelling.
  8. Work with outside photographers as needed.
  9. Utilize Photoshop and Lightroom to edit photos.
  10. Serve on core creative planning team for UND Alumni Magazine.
  11. Shoot, select, resize, and archive website images.
  12. Utilize brand guidelines to ensure our photography matches our visual identity.
  13. Develop monthly social media content calendars for Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.
  14. Utilize Sprout Social software for scheduling social media posts.
  15. Conduct research to understand target audiences and market trends.
  16. Work closely with all organization departments and college liaisons.
  17. Continue learning and staying up to date with tools, trends, and technologies.
  18. Attend organizational events, meetings, and other activities that may include some travel as well as hours worked outside of normal business hours.
  19. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Minimum 2-year degree in Photography, Marketing, Communication, Digital Media, Visual Arts, or Graphic Design. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: 2-4 years’ experience in photography experience strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL & COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

Ability to operate computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment. Ability to focus and complete work in a timely manner. Ability to travel independently via car and air. Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, squat, and lift or move objects up to 10 pounds.
