Position Overview:
The Vice President of Finance will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. This includes strategy development, financial planning, reporting, analysis, budgeting, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the craft brewing industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving financial success in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives, including long-term financial planning and capital allocation.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, including revenue forecasting, cost management, and capital expenditure planning.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk, to protect the company's financial health.
- Work closely with operations to ensure financial controls are in place and to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax laws, GAAP, and other applicable standards.
- Support potential M&A activities, including due diligence, financial modeling, and integration planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the craft brewery or consumer goods industry.
- In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, including financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of the craft brewery industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and M&A activities.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP/MRP platforms.
