What You Will Do:

We are looking for a full-time Accounting Specialist to work in our Atlanta office. The Accounting Specialist will report to our Accounting Manager and will take on ownership of several processes, e.g. billing, payroll, accounts payable, etc. and ensure they are successfully executed. We’re looking for someone who has a can-do attitude and who likes to collaborate.

Responsibilities:

Employees may also perform other duties as assigned including working on other projects.

  • Maintains accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments, processes and files receipts and invoices.
  • Manages client accounts and payment schedules; generates invoices, processes incoming check and credit card payments, and reconciles statements.
  • Processes regular payroll information on a biweekly basis, as well as bonuses and off-cycle checks when necessary
  • Invoices consultants, prepares pay application, lien waivers, and Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests.
  • Assists in the preparation of tax documents for team members; prepares and distributes annual IRS forms.
  • Looks for, escalates, and/or provides solutions for accounting irregularities.
  • Collaborates with team members to provide requested financial reports to managers.
  • Perform reconciliation for Credit account for BP & BPL. And Bank reconciliation for BP.
  • Prepares pre-billing reports for project managers to review.
  • Issues invoices and purchase orders, as well as paying consultant, subcontractor, vendor, and supplier bills.
  • Ensures a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner.
  • Performs administrative and other tasks as needed.
  • Perform weekly timesheet and expense review.

What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, or similar.
  • 5+ years' accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in electronic accounting, Excel, and other Microsoft office products.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard practices
  • High knowledge of payroll processing and ability to perform all related procedures, learn and apply employment law and organizational policies and benefits.
  • Ability to input data accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services.
  • Extensive experience in project accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
