Our HVAC Managers are responsible for leading a team to service and providing Powers solutions to our customers. As a Powers HVAC Manager, you are also responsible for excellent customer service.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing new sales opportunities by building relationships with building owners, building managers, plant managers etc.
  • Expand sales/business opportunities with existing accounts, assuring customers are informed of newest and most innovative products
  • Coach, train, & develop technicians to increase work efficiency
  • Support the technicians with technical advice
  • Help technicians track down parts and tools needed to complete their job efficiently
  • Review and audit technician work orders and other paperwork to ensure all parts, labor, and materials are included and be up to speed on site history
  • Communicate with the customers to be sure we are doing the right things for them and give them the information to make informed decisions about their HVAC system.
  • Provide customers with quotes in a timely manner
  • Oversee and direct mechanical retrofit projects from conception to completion
  • Must adhere to all company safety requirements
  • Visit the job sites frequently to quote repairs and retrofits
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks
  • Attend networking events with current and potential customers
  • Troubleshoot issues to a successful resolution for the customer.
  • Stay informed of changes in the industry, including trends, new products, and changes in regulations
  • Assist the Accounting Department with the following:
    • Timely billing of customers
    • Review vendor invoices for accuracy
    • Assist in the collection of customer-specific documents
    • Aid in keeping accounts receivable current
    • Gather information to set up new vendors
    • Assist with any related audits
    • Advise any job changes
    • Review the accuracy of the project prior to booking the job
  • Travel to client sites in varying weather conditions is a routine part of the work 
  • Subject to commercial and/or residential building conditions
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of local codes and general industries is required
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
  • Strong people management, communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are a must.
  • Must have proficient mathematical and computer skills (Word and Excel)
  • Familiarity with construction and maintenance management software
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture.”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • An experienced sales professional who is energetic, forward-thinking and self-assured, with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image
  • Ability to prioritize work and organize tasks.
  • Excellent communication, mature judgment, and interpersonal skills


Qualifications

  • Management Experience
  • 10 or more years of commercial HVAC experience including sales, service, and retrofit estimation
  • Team player
  • Detail oriented
  • Reliable
  • Safety Aware
  • EPA Universal Certification

 

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift and carry 10-50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. with assistance, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, may experience prolonged and irregular hours, and work with frequent interruptions
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, climb ladders, and stairways to access equipment in basements, ceilings, and on rooftops
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and have a clean driving record

 

This is a Safety Sensitive position.
