MCC is currently in search of a HVACR INSTALLATION SPECIALIST. This role encompasses all aspects of replacement installation activities. The primary goal is to install commercial heating and air conditioning systems in accordance with the Company's installation protocols and customer satisfaction criteria through direct on-site installation efforts and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders as part of the overall installation team. This position also emphasizes customer satisfaction, quality craftsmanship, and all necessary documentation between field operations and the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve company installation quality and time objectives.
- Execute heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment installation tasks as directed by the HVACR Install Supervisor, adhering to company and customer specifications.
- Follow company and customer safety regulations and practices.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and United Association standards during all service activities.
- Document and maintain accurate records of labor hours and materials utilized for all completed and ongoing projects, submitting reports to the designated office area in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the HVACR Install Supervisor, Service Resource Manager, Dispatchers, Billing Coordinator, Accounts Payable, and other operational personnel to address requests for information or resolve issues.
- Conduct all work in the most efficient and cost-effective manner while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs with the Service Resource Manager or Dispatcher.
- Uphold company standards of conduct and appearance to positively represent the company.
- Comply with the company's refrigerant management program.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment as part of essential duties.
- Work safely with hazardous materials and in challenging environments, including heights and confined spaces.
- Travel to various job sites during working hours.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that aligns with company policy.
- Exhibit consistent alertness and safety awareness while performing job duties.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are crucial for job performance.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Exposure to diverse indoor and outdoor conditions, including loud noises, dust, toxic substances, and varying odors; navigating slippery or uneven surfaces; and working in excavations.
- Ability to work at heights, including on ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops, as well as in confined spaces.
- Capability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to perform manual and repetitive tasks, including prolonged standing or walking, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying.
- Adaptability to changing demands and priorities while completing job duties efficiently.
- Must maintain a constant state of alertness and focus for safe task execution.
- This position may require ergonomic testing.
Safety Considerations
This role is classified as safety-sensitive due to the responsibilities involving vehicle operation, maintenance of heavy machinery, and handling hazardous materials, as well as working at heights and in confined spaces. A lapse in attention could lead to serious injury or fatality. Therefore, the employee must maintain a constant state of alertness and focus for extended periods while performing these duties.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Two to five years of relevant field service experience in an HVAC setting preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment specifications, and mechanical and electrical codes.
- Universal certification required for refrigerant recovery and reclamation per EPA regulations.
- Familiarity with HVAC equipment components and refrigerant piping installation procedures.
- Proficient in using installation and maintenance tools, including threaders, benders, charging equipment, and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot, install, and operate HVAC systems.
- Understanding of primary and secondary HVAC equipment installation and troubleshooting requirements.
- All employees must provide and maintain the necessary tool inventory for this position.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Capability to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision and errors.
- Willingness to work overtime and non-standard hours as required.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
