Job Summary:
Develops test equipment and methods to ensure lithium-ion battery management electronic systems, modules and battery packs conform to specifications. Design and develop complex TestStand software, test systems and integrate LabVIEW automation software with hardware test methods. Create or modify tester system drawings, wiring diagrams, hardware and harness drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Review and summarize customer as well as internal product requirements
- Define detailed testability requirements and generate test specifications
- Review and understand product schematics/drawings
- Create or modify test stand system drawings, wiring diagrams, hardware and harness drawing
- Perform failure analysis and assist in corrective product actions
- Understand CAN data message structure, interpret and analyze CAN log data using CANalyzer
- Lead test stand development activities with supplier and validate full functionality
- Prepare test result reports and review test reports with internally then with customers
- Create test procedures, user guides, train engineers and technicians in the use of test equipment
- Support validation testing and test setup outside test lab as needed
- Design test systems and integrate LabVIEW automation with hardware test methods
- Knowledge in real-time embedded development, message structure and signal processing
- Develop and modify LabVIEW software for testing module, BMS and battery packs
- Design and develop complex TestStand and VerStand automated software
- Execute, debug and optimize TestStand and VerStand automated software
- Troubleshoot complex test code results and expected data
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering required
- 3+ years of automotive design and release, software development, product design, and/or product testing experience.
- 3+ years of experience in LabVIEW/TestStand software development
Skills:
- Strong analytical and communication
- Excellent understanding of electronic systems at the circuit board level
- Technical experience in problem identification/resolution
- Knowledge in real-time embedded development, message structure and signal processing
