Accounting Lead Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operations of the accounting department by taking a “hands on” approach to operations, general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, financial statements, asset and balance sheet management, and tax compliance.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly close. Analyze account balances, completing reconciliations, and proposing adjusting entries as needed to ensure proper application of US GAAP. Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Work “shoulder to shoulder” with the accounting, operations, sales, and other teams to build effective and productive relationships. Develop and analyze detailed reporting assessing efficiency and effectiveness of business and accounting processes. Investigate best practices, suggest improvements, and assist with implementation of process changes. Identify problem areas or situations, evaluate root cause(s), and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Assist employees with benefit and payroll questions as well as perform onboarding, offboarding, and payroll procedures.
  • Support facility operations by coordinating and managing items such as building maintenance, office supplies, uniforms, and other vendor relationships.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Lengthy and specifically relevant career experience may satisfy education requirements.
  • Three or more years of progressive accounting experience including leadership experience in an accounting role. Payroll processing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a highly collaborative and flat organization with visible cultural fit to the Company’s core values.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the highest level of personal integrity and professional judgment.
  • Highly motivated individual who can work independently but also has a proven ability to build strong working relationships with sales, operations, human resources, or other personnel teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly adept at use of computerized accounting and financial management systems as well as Microsoft Office applications. Expert Excel skills preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write, read, and speak English.
  • Able to occasionally travel, including for overnight stays, for meetings, training, or to meet other business needs.
