Start Date: TBD (Early 2024)

Job Purpose

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting our Strategic Contract providing Mission Assurance (S&MA) to NASA's Near Space Network Program. NASA's Near Space Network fulfills the essential needs of user missions, empowering them with mission-critical communications and navigation services and enabling the transmission of science and exploration data to and from space. As a single point of service for missions in the near-space region - out to two million kilometers away - the network connects users with either government or commercial service providers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify quality assurance requirements relative to design, procurement, manufacture, inspection, test, and acceptance requirements.
  • Review and approve drawings.
  • Support milestone reviews.
  • Review and approve test and verification plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Review and provide quality assurance approval for work control documents and changes.
  • Review and approve documentation associated with hardware non-conformances.
  • Provide quality assurance support for hardware Acceptance Reviews.
  • Support material review functions.
  • Assist in the development and/or revision of procedures.
  • Review Acceptance Data Packages to ensure compliance with design and contract requirements.
  • Assist project engineers in the development of project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Quality role with Quality Management Systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or science with a minimum of 5 years' experience, performing professional work in design, development, test.
  • Problem solving experience. Hardware familiarity. Proficiency in Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to acquire NASA badging.

Working Environment

This job operates in an office environment and may be performed remotely as needed.

Position Expectations

This is a full-time position and typically 1st shift. Travel within the continental United States is expected up to 20% of the time.
