Job Summary:
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Office of Information Technology is seeking a highly skilled AV Technician to provide temporary, full-time support for the Museum’s audio-visual operations. The AV Technician will assist the current AV staff in managing the Museum's digital technologies, supporting various events, and ensuring that AV systems run smoothly across all venues. This position will require occasional evening and weekend work to support events, with advance notice provided for after-hours responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level support for the Museum’s AV operations, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot both analog and digital audio consoles and video switchers.
  • Perform system commissioning, testing, and integration of AV systems on-site and remotely.
  • Support live events and video conferencing meetings involving multiple participants.
  • Read and follow AV system flow diagrams and support documentation.
  • Collaborate with Museum staff to ensure AV systems meet project deadlines and event requirements.
  • Act as technical lead for AV events across all Museum venues.
  • Occasional travel to offsite locations may be required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in live events (production) or integrated AV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of major AV vendor hardware and functionality.
  • CTS certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Crestron and audio DSP (Biamp, Crestron, QSC) experience is a plus.
  • Experience with video switchers and analog/digital audio consoles (A1).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multitask under pressure.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend shifts.
