We are seeking a skilled Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing PostgreSQL and Oracle databases/Mongo on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud architecture, database optimization, and security best practices. The Cloud DBA will collaborate closely with development teams to ensure efficient deployment, maintenance, and scalability of databases across our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage PostgreSQL and Oracle databases on AWS/Azure cloud platforms.
  • Design and implement database solutions for new applications and enhancements.
  • Perform database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, and backup/recovery.
  • Ensure high availability, security, and performance of cloud-based databases.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and schema design.
  • Implement and maintain database replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular database capacity planning and scalability assessments.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud databases.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with specific experience in PostgreSQL and Oracle database management.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, optimization, and scalability.
  • Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience in database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and implementation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Oracle Database Administration certifications) are a plus.
