Global Data Consultants is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Role Summary:
This is a senior-level technical role focused on the development of a robust service platform.

Key responsibilities encompass the creation of a new internal data exchange platform leveraging microservices architecture principles within a Spring Boot and Spring Cloud framework.

The position necessitates hands-on expertise in comprehending and transitioning an existing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Java project developed with Java 8.

Familiarity with relational databases, especially Sybase, is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and validate data exchange interfaces.

• Oversee and execute comprehensive testing of data exchange implementations, including conducting code reviews.


• Ensure data integrity and effective error handling in data exchange interfaces; analyze error messages and transaction files to identify and resolve issues.

• Identify opportunities for code optimization and implement enhancements.

• Advance the internal data exchange platform utilizing microservices architecture within a Spring Boot and Spring Cloud environment.

• Migrate functionality from existing internal and external integration solutions to the new platform.

• Employ CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.

• Maintain and transition an existing SOA Java project built with Java 8, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

• Adapt to contemporary event-driven architecture and messaging solutions utilizing Kafka and IBM MQ.

• Create and update technical documentation and specifications related to database objects and scripts.

• Participate in an on-call rotation with a team to support critical systems outside of standard working hours.

• Work with JSON, including schema design and comprehension.

• Possess an in-depth understanding of XML, including schema design and comprehension.

• Understand data exchange utilizing messaging, database-to-database data transfer, API calls, and FTP for data export and import.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Four years of hands-on IT experience in analyzing, designing, and maintaining Java and Spring Boot applications.

Required Technical Skills:

• Proficient in J2SE SDK development, Spring (Boot, Framework, Web, Web Services), Web Services (SOAP, REST), Java standard APIs (Collections, Concurrency, JDBC, JMS, JNDI), and Design Patterns.


Preferred Technical Skills:
• Experience with MQ Server, Spring Cloud, Cloud Data Flow, and modeling (XML Schema, JSON Schema, UML object modeling).

Database Skills:
• Understanding of complex relational databases.

Messaging and Event-Driven Architecture Skills:
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems.

Other Skills:
• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and understanding of microservices and SOA.

JSON and XML Skills:
• Expertise in working with JSON and XML, including schema design and comprehension.

• A satisfactory criminal background check is required.
