Emergency Department Technician

The Emergency Department Technician will assists patient with the activities of daily living in as efficient, empathetic and timely manner under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The ED Technicians Duties will include:
- General patient care to include accurate measurement of vital signs, weights, intake and output, assistance with meals, and special procedures according to established nursing procedures.
- Answers patient call light whether that of assigned patient or not, anticipates patient needs, and demonstrates a cooperative attitude when assisting patients.
- Completes Unit Specific Credentialing/Skills checklist with age specific credentials for population served.
- Will collect, label and transport specimens to proper areas upon request.
- Will report any change in patient condition or behaviors to the Clinical Leader or Staff Nurse in a timely manner.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
2-3 Years of experience preferred.
