Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:- Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients in the Emergency Department
- Document observations, assessments, and changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate positive patient care outcomes
- Provide a full range of nursing care to patients with various physical and behavioral problems
- Assess and care for patients with a wide range of physical and psychological diagnoses
- Care for patients undergoing operative/invasive procedures
- Care for patients requiring special precautions such as isolation
- Insert and maintain peripheral lines
- Maintain central lines for administration of intravenous fluid
- Complete and accurate documentation of care, on time, according to facility/unit policies
- Phlebotomy and bedside testing
- On-call status may be required at the discretion of the Nurse Manager
- Insertion and troubleshooting of Urinary catheters
- Initiates patient education, as prescribed by the physician during discharge
- Display and promote professionalism and excellent customer service during interactions with patients and their families/caregivers
- Minimum of 3 years current experience in an emergency department or major trauma center emergency room
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency
- Unrestricted registered nurse license from any state (United States)
- Preferred to have the Certification of Emergency Nursing (CEN) through the Board of Certifications for Emergency Nurses (BCEN)
