Job Description:

This role includes core database management duties and opportunities for both supporting and leading new data analytic projects supporting the SDN, NIMH: Maintaining and using the SDN clinical database which links cognitive and behavioral measures to sociodemographic, neuroimaging and genomic data elements; Collaborating with programmers to refine database design and query commands; Quality assessment, annotation and entering of data into the database; Working with other SDN members to create bespoke datasets for analysis from the dataset; Liaising with colleagues in departmental Data Science and Sharing and Machine Learning Teams; experience using SQL, Programming
R, Python, and having the ability to lead projects.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collects and analyzes data for a variety of studies.
    • Perform data entry in support of a number of different systems and programs, both numerical and text format.
    • Perform quality checks to ensure consistency, integrity and robustness of data.
    • Working with other SDN members (postbaccalaureate to postdoc level) to create bespoke datasets for analysis from the dataset. 
  • Organizes data to provide functional reporting.
    • Perform database searches and assemble data sets.
  • Creates and maintains a variety of reports.
    • Maintain data for past and present studies.
  • Manages storage and backup systems.
    • Maintain a variety of computerized files and records.
  • Participates in the development and design of databases for tracking and statistical purposes that incorporate multiple data fields
    required by scientists.
    • Develop, maintain and update program database and spreadsheet.
    • Provide support for requests pertaining to new studies for electronic data capture or storage from investigators, review of current
      system or the creation and editing of CRFs and electronic capture tools/interface.
    • Maintaining and using the SDN clinical database 
  • Assists with coordination of statistical data analysis for numerous ongoing studies by collecting, organizing, and tracking
    information.
    • Develop data dictionaries for each database.
  • Manages projects and quickly responds to inquiries about status.
    • Work with database users to identify and resolve cases of missing data.

    • Prepare databases and reports for staff; perform various tracking and analysis of branch data to include spreadsheet preparation and
      interpretation.

  • Other related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Programming and Data Processing, Computer Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, Statistics and Decision Science, Physics, Clinical Psychology, Information Sciences, or Psychology.
  • Two (2) years of field related experience is required.
  • Experience in Programming R, Microsoft Suite, Python, MySQL.
  • Skills required in Scientific Data analysis, Statistical modeling, Database management, Data visualization, Data analysis, Data mining, and Research.
  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
