As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of project execution, including design, permits, specifications, quantity calculations, oversight, report and proposal writing, project management, and cost estimation.

As our Project Engineer, you will...

be in charge of creating engineering designs as well as completing all necessary permits and requirements. Your responsibilities will involve aiding with bidding and contract procurement procedures, as well as construction monitoring, management, and support. This involves fieldwork, quality control, quantity computation, and payment application assessment. You will also write reports and proposals, manage projects, and assist with the administration of bigger projects by creating and executing scopes, timetables, and budgets. Your responsibilities will also include doing extensive quality control assessments of others' work. Effective communication with clients and regulatory authorities is critical, as is participation in conversations and negotiations. You will both lead and cooperate with project teams to perform project work, while working independently, seeking guidance from mentors, and offering mentorship.

To thrive in this role, you must have...

A bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related discipline, from an ABET-accredited school. You should hold a current PE certification and be able to get licensing in Oregon and Washington within three months. Experience and interest in stormwater design, environmental remediation, and site development are required, as is more than five years of relevant work experience and adequate continuing education. You should be able to operate successfully as a project manager in a team setting, managing scope, schedule, budget, project delivery, and client communications. Technical proficiency, organizational and problem-solving talents, and good communication skills are required. Experience with AutoCAD design software, particularly Civil 3D, and fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel are necessary. A willingness to work overtime as needed, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record are also required. You must also be able to execute physical tasks such as lifting, utilizing respiratory and other protection equipment, and navigating harsh terrain.

It is advantageous to have experience with industrial stormwater or wastewater design, utility design, Civil 3D grading, construction oversight, or construction management. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic assessments, as well as a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with a current refresher, are beneficial.
