About Job

The Electrical Service Department Manager will be responsible for the overall growth and management of the service department. This role involves business development, scheduling technicians, overseeing fleet and equipment maintenance, ordering materials, handling purchase orders, troubleshooting, and estimating small projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in service department management and sales, with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Division Coordination: Lead and manage the service department, ensuring efficient and profitable operations.
  • Business Development: Pursue new business opportunities with current and prospective clients/customers to drive department growth.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of the service division, including profitability, budgets, scheduling, billing, and project planning.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Plan and schedule maintenance, service work, and field personnel. Manage the on-call process.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain shop material and equipment supplies by monitoring inventory levels, anticipating supply needs, placing and expediting electrical material orders, and reviewing and approving purchase invoices.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide strong troubleshooting capabilities to address service issues effectively.
  • Project Estimation: Estimate small electrical projects, prepare lighting and gear layouts, and assist the Estimating Department with large projects.
  • Fleet Management: Schedule truck and equipment maintenance.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in service department management and sales.
  • Proficiency in Constructware or similar software preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, especially regarding lighting design and layout.
  • Experience in estimating small projects and assisting with larger project estimations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Local candidates preferred.
