ATCS is rapidly growing We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting & Finance team. This position can report out of any ATCS office location, where we provide a flexible, hybrid environment, or work remotely.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Entry Level Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting accounts payable and payroll process as well as general financial support for the broader organization. Based in the Herndon HQ location, this position plays a key role within the finance team and will serve to support ATCS’ continued high growth and financial performance.

The successful candidate will also embrace and support the company’s four Pillars: Client, Employee, Company and Community.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the overall AP process, including accurately recording transactions to appropriate GL Account, vendor information, proper supporting documentation and approval, disbursement per ATCS and Vendor terms
  • Responsible for supporting the process of the Expense module within Time and Expense to ensure proper authorization, timely and accurate recording and reimbursement of employee expense reports
  • Processing mileage logs on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for reviewing and processing weekly timesheets.
  • Supports Payroll with special projects
  • Responsible for processing payment to Vendors and to Employees for Expense reports
  • Assist in ensuring compliance verification and final review of all AP invoices in accordance with FAR, AASHTO, State, IRS and ATCS policy.
  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting company credit card activity as well as the overall management and strategy around card-based transactions
  • Provide analysis of expense accounts for spending trends, compliance and other key metrics
  • Supports the General Ledger reconciliations of AP accounts
  • Supports the process for direct deposit disbursements of employee expense payments
  • Supports the process for identifying vendors who will require a 1099 and assists with creating, filing with IRS and distributing the 1099 forms to our vendors annually.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by Management and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable/Accounting
  • Strong Excel Skills with attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cost Point
  • Knowledge FAR, FTR and AASHTO
  • Experience with company credit card processing and expense management desirable
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $48,500 to $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target of 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
