About the opportunity:
- As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.
- Your primary focus will be on expanding our presence in the civil construction market, identifying potential clients, and developing strategic partnerships.
Essential Functions:

Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the civil construction sector, including infrastructure projects, commercial developments, and government contracts.
- Research and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and potential clients to develop a targeted business development strategy.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects and clients through proactive prospecting and networking.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Understand client needs and requirements and work closely with the internal team to develop tailored solutions and proposals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Sales and Proposal Management:
- Lead the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and tender responses to secure new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including estimators, project managers, and engineers, to develop accurate pricing and project plans.
Market Intelligence and Strategy:
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging opportunities within the civil construction market.
- Provide regular reports and analyses on sales performance, market conditions, and competitive positioning to inform strategic decision-making.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the senior management team to develop and execute sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and business development plans.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and support for business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field. A master's degree in business administration or a related field is a plus.
- Proven track record of successful business development and sales within the civil construction industry.
- Strong understanding of civil construction processes, project management, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant business tools.
