Travel: This position requires light travel to our customers in the NYC area, and to customer offices nationally as needed. Trade shows and vendor/partner travel may also be necessary.

Compensation: $90-130k Base - Annual This position is compensated in a base salary + commission model

Job Summary

The Sales Engineer position is a key role to grow Tekscape’s business in sales and profits. S/he is responsible for providing technical pre-sales support to current clients and prospects in collaboration with members of the sales team. The Senior Solutions Architect is responsible for translating a prospect or existing customer's business and technical needs into a deliverable technology solution. Timeline for implementation, costs, and billable revenue are key considerations for success.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical design support related to the following disciplines o Networking (Routing/Switching/Wireless) o Security (Endpoint, Email, Web, Identity, Training, SOC) o Systems (Server, Virtualization, Private and Public Cloud, Data Backup) o Collaboration (VoIP, Video Conferencing, Content Sharing)
  • Participate throughout the sales process in support of the field account executive. Typical sales responsibilities include o Uncover the prospect’s business and technical requirements via a discovery call o Design a technical solution to achieve the prospects business and technical objectives, including (but not limited to)
    • A Bill of Materials
    • Professional Services Statement of Work (SOW)
    • Determine appropriate gross margin levels to achieve business relevant profitability for each project
    • Architecture Design Document
    • Other technical documentation
  • Present the proposed solution to both technical and business decision makers, using language appropriate to the audience
  • Participate in the RFP process for larger opportunities, including technical writing to prepare RFIs and RFPs
  • Become the pre-sales expert in the assigned technologies, and deliver training to other Solutions Architects and Account Executives to increase the overall knowledge of the team
  • Develop content and conduct product demonstrations and webinars
  • Articulate technology and product knowledge to clients and sales team
  • Stay current with certifications and technical expertise 2 Required Skills

 

Qualifications

 

  • 8+ years of experience working with systems, networking, collaboration, and security technologies
  • Possesses a strategic mindset with the ability to apply business solutions to a technical challenge
  • Technical communication skills – written, verbal, and in-person presentation, including the ability to present a solution to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A problem-solving mindset, with a methodical approach to design
  • Exercises a collaborative team approach, and is able to provide guidance to peers
  • Work experience as a Solutions Architect at an MSP or VAR Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Graduate degree preferred
  • Hardware, Software, and/or industry recognized certifications (ITIL, Microsoft (Azure), Cisco, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ConnectWise or similar CRM tool
