Role & Responsibility
Subvrsive is seeking an experienced Creative Director to join our creative innovation department building immersive experiences for a variety of exciting brands. The ideal candidate is obsessed with new technology and has exceptional attention to detail for both user centric design and copy. This FL position will start by September 2024 and has the potential to go into mid 2025.
This candidate should possess immaculate leadership skills to lead projects and teams effectively. They can provide effective feedback and creative direction to everyone in our multidisciplinary department as well as mentor and lead a prohect’s team of creative leadership.They are able to stay humble while leading, pushing work creatively while fostering an environment that encourages expression, inclusivity, and collaboration. They are a thoughtful manager who leads by example and takes pride in helping people grow creatively and professionally.
We’re looking for someone who is both a strategic thinker and team leader. Someone who can gracefully navigate between nurturing ongoing client relationships and winning new engagements while still getting the job done.
Our ideal candidate would be able to:
- Lead a team to produce high-quality digital branded experiences, from concept to execution, and express ideas across multiple forms of emerging and traditional digital media - AR, VR, 360°ree; video, spatial web experiences, Ai etc.
- Provide innovative solutions to creative problems, be a thought leader to our team and to our clients, and serve as the go-to person when creative solutions are needed
- Lead creative process during and after new business initiatives, taking on projects both big and small
- Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team, creating and leading presentations for clients and other stakeholders
- Develop strong client relationships and be seen as a true partner with a deep understanding of their brand and product offerings
- Champion strategically-led ideas that align with the client’s brand standards and messaging guidelines
- Partner effectively with teammates in Client Services, New Business, Development, Production, Content, Tech Art/3D and UX/UI to bring out the best of you and your team to our clients and the work
- Manage, inspire, and mentor a team of creatives, even when you’re not on the same projects
- Maintain the quality and consistency of the creative deliverables
- Be a champion for our culture and values
Qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- 10+ years of experience in an agency/studio environment creating digital experiences required
- Stellar portfolio that shows creative range and exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrable ability to produce work that is original, consistent in style and quality, and on brand
- Experience collaborating through shared documents and presenting work remotely as well as in person
- Ability to work independently - as well as lead a group including creative leads, tech art leads, ux leads, and visual designers - to solve complex problems in unique new ways
- Ability to own projects from concept through execution and delivery
- Ability to manage, educate, and train other members of the team, providing constructive feedback that leads to consistent, quality work
- Collaborative, low-ego approach to working with multidisciplinary teams with the willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed
- Strong client communication skills to help convey creative ideas
- Disciplined, but not rigid
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to build structure and process across teams
- High-performance orientation with an appreciation for working smarter, not harder
- Practiced in situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, and empowerment
- Optimistic and able to maintain a positive energy that inspires those around you
