Job Summary: The Team Lead Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the case managers and overnight shelter staff at their location, on their side of the week. It is also responsible for performing supervisions, scheduling, and assisting the Program Manager as needed. Duties and Responsibilities are used in revising or developing performance review objectives for employees.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participant
  1. Process Intakes and Exits and provides updates to Program Manager.
  2. Responsible Crisis response, reporting, critical incident reporting.
  3. Provide a safe environment for participants.
  4. Demonstrate and empower staff to take initiative and problem solve.
  5. Provide support and assist staff in following policies and procedures.
  6. Contribute to the selection of staff during the hiring process.
  • Administration, Compliance & Facilities
  1. Participates in supervisions of case managers, overnight shelter staff.
  2. Assist in the oversight of services and programming in a manner that is consistent with the All Good Northwest, hereinafter referred to as The Company, values, policies, and procedures.
  3. Responsible for chart audits and review of daily notes.
  4. Responsible for report grievances and incident reports submitted by Program Director.
  5. Joint of Homeless Services compliance and standards.
  6. Provide leadership, support, and positive role modeling for shelter staff.
  7. Facilitate staff and team meetings in the absence of the manager.
  8. Assist in developing and implementing on-the-job training and guidance for new and current staff.
  9. Participate in compliance, quality assurance and quality improvement activities as directed.
  10. Maintain compliance of safety compliance as mandated by City of Portland.
  11. Responsible for reviewing, correction and approval of timecards of direct reports by 10am the 1st and 16th of each month.
  12. Responsible for ordering and inventory of facilities’ supplies.
  13. Attend and participate in all outlined trainings and management meetings, including flexing schedule as neede.
  14. Responsible for ensuring facility cleanliness and maintenance.
  15. Translation in some cases (Spanish and English).
  • Supervisory
  1. Enforcement of Village Manual, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  2. Checks in with staff on goals and job responsibilities.
  3. Coordination of overnight staffing and unit turnovers.
  4. Identifying, coaching, and providing tools, resources, and information for staff.
  5. Assign/delegate duties to overnight staff, case managers and staff accountability.
  6. Responsible for the selecting, interviewing, and hiring process of Peer Support staff.
  7. Accountable for attend ending community staff meetings and acts as a back up for Program Manager as needed.
  8. Responsible for the management of Humanity and identifying staff coverage.
  9. Accountable for site coverage, up to and including covering shifts as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for Case Managers, Overnight Shelter Staff, and On-Call Shelter Staff



Preferred Experience:

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience as a Team Lead Supervisor or similar position.
  • Client information databases, developing operating strategies, plans, or procedures.
  • Direct administrative or support services.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or another related field (Preferred).
  • Other relevant certification or training.
  • Lived experience

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of Housing First and Harm Reduction models.
  • Being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Additional eligibility requirements:

  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test as requested.

Work environment:
