Job DescriptionJob Description

The position will ensure a safe working environment and supervise daily excavation, trucking, and aggregate retail yard operations. Manager will also be responsible for monitoring the entire physical site, and coordinating site needs such as (1) aggregate production, (2) trucking capacity maintenance, (3) completion of equipment, and (4) equipment/labor needs with appropriate Division Managers.

As well as plan, direct, coordinate, bid, and budget divisional construction projects working directly for General Manager and with the project foremen. This position will also participate in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversee their organization scheduling and implementation.

This position also assists with hiring, training, disciplining, and/or termination of employees. This position coordinates with the customers and sales staff to meet business needs.

· Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, environmental, employment, management, and other company policies, procedures, and principles.

· Supervise employees as directed by Division Manager.

· Coordinate equipment utilization within the area that promotes maximum efficiency, as directed by Division Manager.

· Maximize profitability by supporting corporate sales goals and marketing initiatives.

· Actively participate in sales and credit meetings, and work with credit to manage "day's sales outstanding" and collection in accordance with company credit policies.

· Supervise and assist in employee and customer problem resolution within the area.

· Assist in scheduling and supervising all maintenance and repair activities.

· Maintain confidentiality with privileged information.

· Works to increase net worth reduce costs and increase the cash flow of the site. Constantly monitors the volume of work and job mix for maximum effect.

· Develops implements and perpetuates employee compliance with and understanding of all Company policies and procedures related to human resources, compensation administration, safety, and field or other general operations.

· Ensures all sales staff/project managers and foremen within the division have the authority needed to carry out their assigned duties and achieve established goals.

· Establishes and promotes contacts with appropriate local and state agencies, associations, developers, and other prospective customers, to obtain work for the division/company and to enhance good public relations. Promotes positive relationships among all entities within the industry.

· Keeps abreast of competition, area growth trends, market studies, and other circumstances of the possible impact on regional operations.

· Approves all estimates, bids, pricing, contracts, and change orders for work within the dollar limits and reviews for accuracy.

· Ensures any required estimates are produced in a timely manner and in sufficient time to allow the generation of the proposals.

· Provides for personnel cross-training at all operational and sales levels within the division to ensure seamlessly continued operations in the absence of any key or other personnel.

· Present a favorable company image to customers and employees.

· Complete weekly activity reports and maintain close management and supervision of assigned plant operations.

· Assist in Hiring, training, and disciplining of employees.

· Coordinate labor and project schedules while exercising labor management for cost control.

· Evaluate employee performance and conduct reviews in cooperation with the Division Manager.

· Maintain plant site and equipment with high expectations of appearance and cleanliness.

· Provide customer support, and project support, conduct job site QA, and schedule resources to meet delivery requirements.

· Coordinate equipment, and material suppliers to meet project demands.

· Primary sales contact, and response for customer service in assigned plant area/market.

· Assist in establishing yearly and project pricing strategies General Manager.

· Make planned sales calls, follow leads, and open new accounts while maintaining existing account relationships.

· Responsible for collections within the area and coordinating new account setup.

Perform other duties as assigned.
