The Senior Technical Advisor's primary responsibility is setting the operational strategy, vision, and technical direction for Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-hosted systems in order to achieve established strategic goals. This role requires a demonstrated breadth of knowledge across various enterprise solutions/technology stacks in addition to ability to architect solutions, lead application development projects, brief senior executives, and provide guidance to internal teams and clients.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership with in-depth understanding of AWS, cloud services, infrastructure components, security best practices, and architectural patterns.
  • Provide vision and direction in selection and implementation of cloud services based on customer requirements and in overseeing the successful delivery.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cloud architecture diagrams and present to government Technical Review Boards.
  • Guide the creation of technical roadmaps, resource allocation estimates, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Direct the implementation process, offering insights on deployment strategies, automation, and monitoring.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on AWS best practices, architecture, troubleshooting techniques, and security best practices.
  • Assist IT teams with automation of cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
  • Provide expertise in cloud architectures (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and experience in broad enterprise platforms and cloud patterns.
  • Mentor and train junior cloud engineers on AWS technologies and solution design principles.
  • Continuously assess technology, security, and usability gaps and opportunities for ARDX platform and service expansion.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of company products and services and competition to keep business competitive.
  • Research and leverage the latest industry trends to support the creation of new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to proposals and business growth.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; master’s degree desired
  • 10 years of proven experience as a technologist leading teams
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical teams in architecting and implementing AWS cloud solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms and technologies, specifically AWS
  • AWS Certified: AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or other AWS certifications preferred
  • A solid understanding of software-defined networking, routing, DNS, and load balancing
  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud-based and cloud-native solutions
  • Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and configuration management tools (including Terraform and Ansible)
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Kubernetes) and serverless computing
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • ITIL Foundations and/or SAFe certification desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence desired
