Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of various habitability initiatives and identify available resources for these programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the aircraft carrier habitability program in relation to operational readiness and mission requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on the interpretation and application of assessment and readiness policies from higher authorities.
  • Assist in the management and technical oversight of habitability and quality of life systems aboard assigned vessels.
  • Coordinate the Shipboard Habitability Program for designated vessels, working with various staff and external entities to enhance onboard living conditions.
  • Conduct inspections and monitor quality of life policies, maintaining familiarity with current living conditions through site visits.
  • Initiate and coordinate actions to meet habitability standards as established by relevant directives.
  • Facilitate the initiation of habitability improvements and repairs as necessary, reviewing new systems for their impact on quality of life.
  • Oversee the evaluation and inspection of existing and new habitability systems and materials.
  • Collaborate with management to plan and execute assessments of aircraft carriers, focusing on habitability and livability.
  • Work with assessment program managers to enhance readiness evaluations for the fleet, addressing areas such as training, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of assessment practices to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain oversight of readiness assessment improvement actions and coordinate efforts between relevant commands.
  • Assist in the development of metrics for readiness assessments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft products.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft carrier operations, maintenance, and training.
  • Extensive knowledge of Naval Aircraft Carrier standards and references.
  • Ability to assess aircraft carrier readiness based on interactions with senior leadership.
  • Experience in implementing habitability programs and identifying resources for support.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with senior command levels.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness to get underway on aircraft carriers.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Capacity to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds over distances.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Mobility to complete tasks across various work sites.
  • Effective communication skills for information exchange.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel, less than 10%.
  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials for access to secure facilities.
