Summary of Position:

Public Health Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Director of Restricted Funds. Under the direction and supervision of the CFO and Controller, the Senior Director of Restricted Funds delivers comprehensive accounting, grant management and fiscal support services for select programs. Responsible for supervision of accounting and fiscal staff including, but not limited to, Fiscal Manager, Senior Restricted Funds Accountant and Restricted Funds Accountant titles and responsible for all day to-day activities of assigned staff and for supporting the overall performance, reporting and quality objectives of the select program(s) and the Fiscal Department. As part of the fiscal management team participates in all Fiscal Department initiatives as appropriate

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day management and supervision of assigned staff.
  • Reviews and approves all financial reports and payment requests journal entries, and other financial materials prepared by assigned staff.
  • Presents financial materials to PHS management, program management, program Board committees and program Board as requested.
  • Coordinates with PHS Fiscal Department on corporate-wide interim and year-end financial reporting and other fiscal matters.
  • Serve as liaison for funding sources to resolve programmatic financial issues.
  • Ensures timely compliance with funders’ financial requirement.
  • Provides training, instruction, assistance and support to assigned fiscal staff.
  • Prepares written policies and procedures as required.
  • Prepares financial analysis as required by program management and staff.
  • Work with program’s independent auditors to facilitate annual compliance audits.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Administration and Management, Accounting preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, including grant accounting and fiscal reporting, 7 of which must be in the non-profit arena.
  • Significant prior experience managing professional staff in a not-for-profit Fiscal Department and Restricted Funds environment.
  • Expertise in Excel and report writing software. 7 years of hands-on experience with accounting system software. Sage Intacct and similar financial software experience a plus.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collegially with staff, management, and all stakeholders in time sensitive, performance driven environments.
