Funds Ratings Associate Director

KBRA is seeking a highly skilled Funds Ratings Associate Director to join our team in New York. As a key member of our Funds Ratings team, you will be responsible for leading the credit rating process and research efforts on various debt transactions involving investment funds and other related vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the credit ratings process and research efforts on a variety of debt transactions involving investment funds and other related vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of credit risk assessment across a wide range of investment strategies and transaction structures.
  • Produce high-quality written reports and presentations for internal credit committee and external publication.
  • Collaborate with KBRA experts in other sectors to leverage expertise and drive business growth.
  • Conduct on-site diligence meetings with fund management teams to assess their investment expertise, risk management skills, and operational processes.
  • Develop and lead the development of rating and analytical tools, such as cash flow models, to evaluate fund debt structures.
  • Represent KBRA as a thought leader in the global fund finances sector through speaking, publishing, and networking efforts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced graduate degree or CFA designation a plus.
  • At least six years of work experience as a credit analyst with experience in fund finance, investing, or structured finance.
  • Strong interest and relevant experience in credit, fixed income research, or capital markets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel for conducting credit and cash flow modeling, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
