Qualifications

  • Candidate will have A.S. in surveying or civil engineering or equivalent work experience of two years. Candidate must demonstrate familiarity with the basics of boundary principles as well as geometry and trigonometry.
  • Must have knowledge of surveying computer applications.
  • Position will entail CAD drafting as well as field support duties and requires interface with office and field personnel.
  • LSIT preferred, or obtaining LSIT within 1 year.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain from record documents and/or survey field data
  • Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and elevations for use in boundary and topographic mapping.
  • Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, from field data obtained using and/or satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
  • Direct or conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on established boundary doctrine utilizing legal deeds and title reports.
  • Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of real property and easements under the direction of a licensed Land Surveyor.
  • Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
  • Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
